June 1st: Today is the start...the start to a healthier me...the start to a happier me...the start to the rest of my life. I am ready to start living my life and have the goal of running a 10k with my sister next spring. RUN?!?! Yes...I said run! I am no where near being able to run that far right now, but am going to train to be able to run that distance by the spring and then hopefully the Denver Rock and Roll Marathon (half) next fall.
I started today with a 36 minute walk with my sister to Target, with a 20-30 second jog thrown in. I figure if I just keep adding time to the run (jog) part, I will be able to eventually run the whole part...a little at a time!! I need to keep up with the exercise and also keep up with eating healthy. I am trying to eat a (mostly) clean diet and will continue on that journey as well.
I need to go the slow and steady route to do this and know it will be a process. I have at least 100 pounds to lose (sometimes it seems impossible), and am hoping this blog will help keep me on track to doing just that! I am going out of town in September and hope to be a couple sizes smaller than I am right now...I'll keep you posted!! My "before" pictures will be posted soon!!
